KHARKIV NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY


Kharkiv National Medical University is a state university that is supervised by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health and is located in the city of Kharkiv. The University gained the 4th level of Accreditation.

Kharkiv National Medical University is first in the ratings among higher medical education institutions of Ukraine. Kharkiv National Medical University is also known abroad. Students from all over the world come to the University to study medicine and help people in their homelands. The graduates are highly qualified specialists who work not only in clinics and hospitals but also in various fields of health care institutions. The University is also actively establishing international connections for students to have the opportunity to undergo internships in other countries and obtain the highest international standards of healthcare. 

 

Kharkiv National Medical University is a member of the International Association of Universities and is registered beneath UNESCO. The university is a member of the Organization for Ph.D. programs in biomedicine and medical sciences in Europe ORPHEUS. The University has a certificate of International institutional accreditation for 5 years (24.12.2020-23.12.2025) from the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (HAAP / IAAR). The quality management system of Kharkiv National Medical University meets the requirements of the state standard ISO 9001: 2015 (ISO 9001: 2015, IDT) «Quality management systems. Requirements». 

 

Kharkiv National Medical University is listed in the FAIMER (International Medical Education) directory under ECFMG and the WHO (World Health Organization) directory of Medical Universities/Schools. In addition, the University degree is recognized by WHO, US Education Department, General Medical Council of England, and in EU countries. Kharkiv National Medical University students are assessed according to the European Credit Test System (ECTS) credit-module system, which will allow the diplomas granted by the University to be converted in all countries of the European Union.

ACCOMMODATION

 

Kharkiv National Medical University has developed a dormitory system with fully furnished rooms and a comfortable study environment. The Kharkiv National Medical University has 7 hostels with a total area of 44512 sq.m for the accommodation of 3344 students.

 

The International Office of Kharkiv National Medical University provides security of accommodation placement services to all international students who receive an academic offer. There are several accommodation options for international students and it is important to consider whether you prefer an independent lifestyle or enjoy living in a community.

CITY LIFE

 

Kharkiv is the second-largest city in Ukraine. It is the largest city in the Slobozhanshchyna historical region. The city was founded in 1654 from a humble beginning as a small fortress grew to be a major center of Ukrainian industry. There is an underground rapid-transit system (subway) with about 35 km of track and 28 subway stations. A well-known landmark of Kharkiv is the Freedom Square, which is currently the third-largest city square in Europe, and the 7th largest square in the world.

Life in Kharkiv is changing each season. In winter there is plenty of snow so students prefer spending their time at home, in nightclubs or restaurants. They visit theaters and cinemas more often when this time of the year starts. Summertime is beautiful here. There are many parks, open-air nightclubs, verandas at cafes that are open so students tend to spend much of their time exploring the city.
