ACCOMMODATION

Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy has 7 hostels which are located in different regions of the city. You can get to the university by a tram, a trolley-bus, and a bus, etc. to the university. The hostels can accommodate about 2768 students. Hostels № 1, 5 and 7 are reserved for foreign students. The buildings of the campuses are modern and consist of rooms for 2-3 students with necessary facilities. All the rooms are well-organized and furnished with a bed, a desk and a chair, provided with cold and hot running water, central heating, Internet access, and suitable lighting. Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University (LNMU) is one of the oldest and biggest medical educational institutions in Ukraine.  The university has got the IV level of accreditation. It is regularly ranked among the twenty best universities of Ukraine.

Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University provides Undergraduate and Postgraduate education on Faculties of General Medicine (MD/MBBS), Dentistry and Pharmacy. Vinnitsya National Pirogov Memorial Medical University is a state educational establishment, founded in 1921. Vinnitsya National Pirogov Memorial Medical University has got the highest IV level of accreditation. It is specialized only on medicine. The library has its branches in each hostel. There is an Internet Hall in the building of library where students can receive latest international information. After enrolment every student receives “library card”, on the basis of which students can receive books for studies for the period of respective academic year. At the beginning of a new academic year the students receive new books for that year.

Poltava State Medical Academy has a great system of hostel accommodation. Rooms are fully equipped. They are  two or three beds and an attached toilet. There is a common hall and a common kitchen on each floor and a gym recreation center on the ground floor. Hostel rooms are furnished with beds, mattresses, pillows, blanket, two side tables, one cupboard per room and one table and chair per room. Students get a weekly change of bed-sheet and pillowcase. All rooms are centrally heated. A plumber, carpenter, and electrician are available on call. There is a regime in the dormitory: hostel gate closes at 11.00 pm. Hostels are provided with full 24 hours security.

CITY LIFE

Poltava is a city located on the Vorskla River in north-eastern Ukraine. The population of the city is about 292,000, and the area — 112 sq. km. Poltava stands on the transport routes between the largest cities of Ukraine — Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro that makes the city an important trade center. The climate in Poltava is moderate with warm summers and cool winters. Poltava can be freely called a cultural center of Ukraine. This is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine. It was mentioned in the writers’ books, discovering Ukrainian myths, customs and traditions number of times. Many churches, theatres and museums of the authors of the past are situated there. Poltava’s dialect is considered as a literary language.

The South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushinsky hostels are provided with free gas and electricity, hot and cold water and a phone. Ternopil National Medical University has 4 dormitories. The dormitory has about 206 rooms and a total housing capacity of 550 persons. Each floor of the dormitory has 3 living wings. The rooms are for 2-3 people, a toilet and a shower are attached. Hostel rooms are provided with beds, mattress, pillows, blankets, two-side tables, one cupboard per room and one table and chair per room. All rooms are centrally heated. The Internet is available in most rooms of the dormitory.

The system of training at Zaporizhzhia State Medical University includes the premedical (only for students who want to study in a local language), medical and post-diploma period of training. The premedical education is provided at the preparatory department for foreign citizens, which is the oldest one in the countries of CIS. It is the center of foreign students’ training for further studies in other higher educational establishments of Ukraine. The training of foreign students and their specializations is carried out at two departments: medical and pharmaceutical.
