Zaporizhzhia State Medical University
Zaporizhzhia State Medical University is a modern, multi-profile higher education institution of the 4th level of accreditation with the right of autonomous management. Zaporizhzhia State Medical University takes one the first places in the system of higher medical education in Ukraine with the number of foreign students being trained there. Training of foreign citizens has been carried out at ZSMU since 1973. Over 10,500 foreign students completed training in various medical specialties and got accredited higher educational degrees. More than 50 foreign graduates undertook post-graduate courses and successfully defended theses. Since 2002 foreign students in Zaporizhzhia State Medical University have been taught in English. The university annually holds 10-15 All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences with international participation.
The system of training at Zaporizhzhia State Medical University includes Pre-University, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate periods of study. Premedical education is provided at the International Faculty No.1 and then foreign students continue studies at the International Faculty No. 2. Training at ZSMU is carried out with the usage of the most modern scientific and pedagogical technologies. The university has 42 computer classes, and more than 1,308 computers used in the educational and scientific process, which allows it to execute a curriculum based on multimedia technologies. All technological processes in the Zaporizhzhia State Medical University Library are computerized and developed to make the educational process more effective and useful for medical students of all ages and citizenships. The medical work of the staff of the Clinical Departments of the Zaporizhzhia State Medical University is aimed at providing a practical component of the educational process for training doctors, improving the quality of medical care, further development and availability of all types of medical care, stimulating effective cooperation between health care institutions and Zaporizhzhia State Medical University on medical, scientific, and educational activities. The mentioned tasks are performed by 37 clinical departments of the Zaporizhzhia State Medical University, including 17 therapeutic, 14 surgical, and 6 pediatric departments. Clinical departments of the University are located on the bases of 34 leading healthcare institutions, 9 dental institutions, and 39 bases of extramural internships for training interns. Employees of clinical departments successfully work in 11 interregional and regional specialized medical centers, equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment equipment. They perform a large amount of advisory work and modern surgical interventions.

AccommodationÂ
Zaporizhzhia State Medical University looks like a student campus. Trees, bushes, and lawns surrounding the campus, and the picturesque banks of the largest river of Ukraine – the Dnieper – promote a favorable climate and conditions for creative studies. Student Campus is a detached territory protected by a specialized guard for 24 hours. Students Dormitory consists of 5 hostels, scientific and belletristic literature libraries with reading halls and computer rooms, a medical center, a student’s sanatorium-dispensary, a sports center, courts, and stadium, some canteens and cafes, a shoe repair shop and clothing repair shop on its territory. Hostels have their canteen with Indian cuisine which is very popular with foreign students.
The campus and hostels are equipped with the means of video surveillance and control. ZSMU has organized the lighting of adjacent territories at its own expense. All 5 Student Hostels of the University accommodate about 3,000 persons and three of them are for foreign citizens. The Students’ Hostels are modern block-type buildings and consist of rooms for 1-3 persons with all the conveniences. All Hostel rooms are equipped with free Wi-Fi.
