Gazi University is a public educational institution located in Ankara, Turkey, and established in 1926. Gazi University conducts educational processes at 21 faculties, 4 schools, 11 vocational schools of higher education, 52 research centers, and 7 graduate institutes. The university provides a studying process for more than 77,000 international and local students in total of whom about 1,500 come from the Turkish States of Central Asia. More than 5,000 students are enrolled in Postgraduate programs. The total size of the teaching faculty exceeds 3,000 qualified specialists in their fields.
Gazi University library has a wide amount of resources from 150,000 books, 62,000 bound periodicals, and 10,000 master theses. The library subscribes to 700 periodicals in foreign languages and 600 in Turkish and provides access for international and local students to 20,000 online journals and 30 online databases. Collections are predominantly in Turkish, English, and German. Library orientation programs are organized for first-year Gazi University students. Students have the opportunity to use all university printed and digital resources in their studying and research projects.
Gazi University was ranked 6th by URAP Turkish University Rankings in 2021. URAP also ranked Gazi University in the 40 places in Engineering and Technology studies and quality of education in Turkey. According to CWUR, Gazi University is ranked 844 in the 2022 World University Rankings. In QS Rankings Gazi University was placed between 801-1000 categories in 2021. In QS Rankings 2022, Gazi University is ranked 21st in Education studies worldwide and ranked 1st in Turkey in the same subject. In 2022 Gazi University is ranked 653rd in World University Rankings. Accommodation
Gazi University provides international students with an opportunity to choose between more than 20 dormitories and student halls situated within walking distance from the bus stop, metro station, or any of the study buildings. The services offered by student dormitories are varied, have different fees, and meet different requirements. Students Dormitory provides an opportunity to live in buildings with more than 2,000 housing places. Students can live in single, double, or triple rooms supplied with beds, fridges, wardrobes, TVs, telephones, study desks, and dinner tables. Free Wi-Fi, central heating, and air conditioning system is available on the campus territory.
