Ankara University
Ankara University is a public university in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey that was established in 1946 and became the first educational institution founded in Turkey after the formation of the Republic. The educational process is provided in 16 renovated and supplied with modern audiovisual and technical equipment Campuses in Ankara for more than 72,000 international and local students and graduates. The academic staff consists of 11,000 qualified and experienced members who are ready to assist students with their studies. Students have free access to more than 30 Research Libraries on the campus territory.
Ankara University has its own Kreiken Observatory, the construction of which started in 1959. In 1963 it was officially opened at the International Astronomy Conference. Along with scientific activities the observatory holds educational events for children, school children, and students. Ankara University Brain Research Center (AU-BRC) was founded on May 21, 2009. It organizes research and scientific events connected to the studies of the human brain. Scientists from such fields as Linguistics, Psychiatry, Neurology, Physiology, and Electrical Engineering are working together to conduct research in Research Centers founded at the base of Ankara University.
Ankara University Center of Research of Child’s Culture (ÇOKAUM) was founded in 1994 by Prof.Dr. Bekir Onur on the base of Ankara University. The center unites specialists from the spheres of Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Communication, Health, etc. ÇOKAUM’s objectives are to organize and conduct research in the field of children’s culture, organize and participate in conferences and other academic events in Turkey and abroad, and inform specialists and the public about children’s culture and the results of research in this area.

Accommodation
Apart from the student houses affiliated with the Higher Education Credit and Hostels Institution, every international student of Ankara University can access the comfortable student housing facilities provided by the University. It provides students with an opportunity to stay in every of 6 renovated accommodation options with a total capacity of more than 1,200 housing places. They can live in single, double, or triple rooms supplied with beds, fridges, wardrobes, TVs, telephones, study desks, and dinner tables. Free Wi-Fi, central heating, and air conditioning system is available on all Campus Territory.
All rooms, common spaces, and kitchens are cleaned every day. Students are provided with bed linen and have free access to laundry rooms. Ankara University Students Dormitory allows its students to use a fully equipped Sports Gym and stadium with all needed supplies at any time for free. To improve the convenience of international students they operate a 24-hour reception service, security service, safe system, car park, and a student canteen.
