Admission Process
At the Alfred Education Group, we strive to ensure a comfortable educational experience in Romania for international students from start to finish. Through the years of our work with students and universities, we have developed 6 steps for a fast and easy admission process. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, feel free to contact us via email or phone at any time.Â
Step 1. Apply Online
If you have already chosen the university and faculty of your dreams, the information about the tuition fees is clear to you, and you are willing to study in Romania. You can easily apply online by filling out the application form on our website. If you have any questions about Romania, universities, or educational programs – feel free to contact our managers. Alfred Education Group’s dedicated team will answer all your questions and help you choose the best option for you!Â
Step 2. Send Documents
To start your admission process, you need to send us the following documents:
- Filled Application Form;
- Recent Passport/ID Photo (required by some universities);
- High School original transcripts and a certified copy if issued in English (or a certified translation of the document). Some universities may accept this document on French;
- Baccalaureate Diploma original or certified copy in English (for Master studies). Some universities may accept this document on French;
- Certified Copy of Birth Certificate:
- Original Document Certifying Permanent Residence Abroad;
- Passport Copy (pages 1, 2, 3, and 4) or ID (passport should be valid for at least 9 months after the start of the academic year);
- Copy of the Medical Certificate;
- Certificate of English Language Competence (French Language Competence can be required by some universities);
- Consent to the Processing of Personal Data (required by some universities);
- Enrollment Fee Proof.
Step 3. Pass Interview
Romanian universities require international students to pass interviews as part of the admission process. Depending on the university you choose, you may either participate in a live online interview or submit a pre-recorded interview. The interview process allows the university to assess your qualifications, motivation, and suitability for the program. It is an important step to ensure that you meet the academic and language requirements necessary for successful study in Romania. Prepare thoroughly to make a strong impression. Additionally, some universities may require you to pass the entrance test. Note that this step may be unnecessary for some universities!Â
Step 4. Get an Invitation Letter
To receive an Invitation Letter from the Romanian university, students will first be provided with a Pre-acceptance Letter with instructions for paying the admission fee (required by several universities). The applicant’s documents are submitted to the Ministry of Education of Romania, enabling the issuance of a letter of information and an invoice for the payment of first-year tuition fees. First-year students must pay the tuition fees in full to obtain the Invitation Letter. Once the tuition fee is fully paid, the invitation letter will be issued.
There is a list of documents to be sent in order to obtain an Invitation Letter:
- Copy of the International Passport;
- Filled Application Form;
- Payment Slip Covering Tuition Fee for One Academic Year.
Available payment methods include bank transfer, Western Union, and MoneyGram. Ensure all documents are clearly legible, scanned properly, and double-checked before sending!
Invitations typically take 3-7 days to be confirmed in Romania.
Step 5. Obtain a VISA
Non-EU/EEA citizens need a Visa to enter Latvia!
After getting an Invitation Letter you will have to contact the Romanian Embassy in your country. To get your VISA approved you will have to prepare the following documents:
- Student Visa Application Form;
- Recent Passport-Sized Photo;
- Valid Passport;
- University Admission Letter signed by the Ministry of Education;
- Criminal Record Certificate or other Document with the same Legal Value;
- Proof of Financial Means;
- Proof of Accommodation;
- English Language Certificate;
- Visa Fee Payment Receipt;
- Medical Insurance for the whole period of the Visa;
- Parental or Guardian Consent Regarding the stay for study purposes in Romania (if you are underage).
Step 6. Arrive in Romania
Alfred Education Group notifies the government of Romania about your arrival with an official letter so please be sure to notify us in advance about your arrival in Romania! At passport control, the Border Service officer will verify if the official representative from Alfred Education Group mentioned in your letter is there to meet you. During border control, you will be asked to provide details about the university you are attending, the faculty you’ve enrolled in, and who is picking you up at the airport.Â
Please note! If you fail to inform us of your arrival in Romania in advance, you will be deported back to your home country.
