Almaty Management University holds the distinction of being Kazakhstan’s oldest private higher education institution. It pioneered business education in the Republic of Kazakhstan and set a precedent for business education in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region. AlmaU’s roots trace back to 1988 when it began as a modest School of Management, marking the inception of a new era in nurturing a generation of managers for Kazakhstan. Over the course of 25 years, IAB achieved another significant milestone by elevating its status to the Almaty Management University. 

Almaty Management University offers a comprehensive range of educational programs, spanning from general education at all levels to outreach initiatives, upskilling and reskilling opportunities, and capacity-building projects in various domains. These areas encompass Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts, and IT extending into critical fields such as economics, law, technology, human rights, ecology, climate change, sustainability, and more. The university comprises a diverse array of academic and developmental units, including 9 Schools, 4 Centers, the Institute for Education Development, and AlmaU Extension, focusing on executive education.

Building and maintaining a robust network of international connections is a vital component of AlmaU’s strategy for fostering international cooperation and global integration. Almaty Management University offers diverse housing choices for students. The on-campus dormitories, with a capacity for up to 300 students, are conveniently situated within walking distance of the university’s main campus. They provide a range of amenities, including shared kitchens, communal bathrooms, laundry facilities, and dedicated study spaces. ALMAU extends the option of off-campus apartments available for student rental. Apartments are located in various neighborhoods across Almaty and offer a variety of features, such as private kitchens, individual bathrooms, laundry services, and parking facilities. The cost of student housing at ALMAU varies depending on the type of accommodation and the amenities offered. On-campus dormitories are more economical than off-campus apartments.
