University of Georgia
The University of Georgia is a private university founded in Tbilisi, in the country of Georgia, in 2004. The University of Georgia (UG) is one of the largest private universities in the country, with more than 8,000 local and international students. The University has accredited programs on 3 levels of higher education (Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D.) in English and Georgian languages. Bachelor level of education is provided for over 5,000 local and international students in both online and on-campus study modes. In 2010 the United States Agency OPIC (Overseas Private Investment Corporation) invested multimillion dollars in developing the university’s infrastructure.
The University of Georgia as a member of the Bologna Process is recognized and accredited in Europe and the USA. English language programs of the University are accredited by official structures of various countries as well as by International Organizations (for example the University has accreditation from the Ministry of Education of Iran and Turkey, the Medical Council of India, the International Healthcare Organization, and other international organizations). The University of Georgia is also an ENIC-NARIC member (ENIC – European Network of Information Centers in the European Region; NARIC-National Academic Recognition Information Centers in the European Union). AccommodationÂ
The University of Georgia provides its students with renovated and modernized student hostels 10 minutes from the main study building. All the hostels have CCTV surveillance systems and fire alarm safety systems installed for the safety of foreigners. Students can choose 2-3 seater rooms that have study tables, chairs, beds, bed sheets, wardrobes, lamps, etc.
The hostels have facilities of kitchens, laundry, sports hall, and reading hall within its premises on each floor. All residents of the Students Hostel have free access to the gym and recreation center with a tennis table and modern sports amenities. Hostel rooms are fully furnished with beds, mattresses, pillows, blankets, two side tables, one cupboard per room, and one table and chair per room. Hot water is available during designated hours. All rooms are centrally heated.
