Akaki Tsereteli State University (ATSU) was established 80 years ago (1933) and it’s one of the oldest high education institutions in Georgia. Akaki Tsereteli State University was merged with Kutaisi Technical University in 2006 and with Sukhumi Subtropical Teaching University in 2010. ATSU became one of the largest universities with a wide spectrum of academic (on Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. levels) and professional teaching programs and research fields. Akaki Tsereli State University provides an educational process for both international and local students in 42 Bachelor`s educational programs, 46 Master`s educational programs, 4 one-cycle programs, and 9 Doctoral programs. ATSU is an authorized University by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement. 

Akaki Tsereli State University has been cooperating with various higher educational institutions around the world since its establishment and currently has strong ties with partner universities in 54 countries. It allows the university to be the popular study and work destination for foreign students and lecturers, have double degree programs, as well as exchange programs for students, and academic and administrative staff. They can travel abroad, get an immersive cultural experience, and open for them a wide range of career opportunities both in Georgia and beyond its borders. 

Akaki Tsereli State University has cooperation agreements with the University of Missouri (USA), the University of South Wales (UK), the University of Bamberg (Germany), the University of Gottingen (Germany), the University of Bremen (Germany), the University of Versailles (France), University of Ankara (Turkey), Ariel University (Israel), University of Latvia (Latvia), and Daugavpils University (Latvia).

Akaki Tsereteli State University prides itself on offering comfortable and well-equipped dormitory accommodations to its students. The university’s dormitory complex consists of multiple modern buildings, providing housing options for both local and international students. With a total of 600 rooms, the dormitory can accommodate up to 1,200 students, ensuring that a significant portion of our student body can enjoy the convenience and camaraderie of on-campus living.

The facilities within the dormitory are designed to support student’s academic and recreational needs. Common areas are equipped with spacious study lounges, high-speed internet access, and printing services, creating a conducive environment for focused study sessions. To promote social interaction and relaxation, our dormitory features common rooms with comfortable seating, where students can watch TV, play games, or simply unwind with friends.
