The University of Split was established on 15 June 1974, incorporating various units that had already demonstrated their prowess in professional, scientific, and educational domains. As a leading public institution for research and education in the region, the University of Split has undergone significant growth over the past three decades, now comprising 11 faculties, an Academy of Arts, and 4 University Departments. Approximately 25,000 students are currently enrolled in the university’s Undergraduate, Graduate, and Post-Graduate programs. 

The University of Split offers 189 study programs, catering to the diverse academic interests and career aspirations of its students. The university`s educational programs encompass a wide spectrum of disciplines, ranging from the Arts and Humanities to the Sciences and professional fields, ensuring that students have ample choices to pursue their academic passions and professional goals. The University of Split offers 72 Undergraduate study programs, including both university and specialist programs, providing students with the opportunity to engage in advanced research and specialized study within their respective fields. The university offers 18 postgraduate Ph.D. study programs and 16 Postgraduate specialist study programs, catering to the needs of students seeking to advance their academic qualifications and expertise. 

The University of Split has participated in the Erasmus exchange program since the very beginning of its implementation in the Republic of Croatia in 2009. In 2021 the University of Split was awarded with Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) 2021-2027. The University has over 600 Erasmus+ agreements with partner universities providing the framework for student and staff exchange. Accommodation

The University of Split provides its students with the opportunity to live in Students Hostels “Dr. Franjo Tuđman”. The student’s residence hall and hostel “Dr. Franjo Tuđman” has over 400 renovated and equipped with modern furniture rooms. Student Hostel has 6 rooms equipped for disabled persons. The university has over 300 double bedrooms and 60 single bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. There are 5 modern kitchens and 10 supplied with modern equipment classrooms intended for learning and socializing. The hostel has 2 outdoor Sports Courts and 1 Indoor Court. The excellently equipped Fitness Gym offers every international student and hostel member the possibility of quality recreation.

In addition to its living spaces, the dormitory boasts an array of modern facilities to enhance students’ overall well-being. Common areas are equipped with study lounges, high-speed Wi-Fi, and printing services, allowing students to focus on their academics in a conducive environment. For recreational purposes, a vibrant common room with a large TV, gaming consoles, and board games creates a space for students to unwind and bond with their peers.
