The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) is a privately funded institution situated in the capital city of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Established by the Foundation for the Development of Education in 2004–2005, IUS welcomes students from all corners of the globe and conducts its instructional and communication activities primarily in English. The university provides a four-year education following the Bologna system, granting Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. IUS has a huge number of international students from 55 countries and faculty members from 20 countries performing academic and research activities in various disciplines of Science, Engineering, Arts, and Social Sciences.
The International University of Sarajevo offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies developed in a quality intellectual atmosphere and can choose one of 17 study programs within the 5 faculties, containing programs in different areas ranging from industrial engineering and computer sciences through Art and Social Sciences, Pedagogical Sciences, Law and up to Business Administration and Humanities. Currently at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) study around 2,000 students in all 3 cycles of studies, coming from all continents and more than 45 countries of the world.
The International University of Sarajevo maintains a high level of education of professionals in their fields of expertise and especially focuses on the affirmation of work and achievements, involvement in the international university community, and long-term cooperation with related universities achieved through various projects and programs. IUS strives to attract and retain outstanding, qualified teachers and administrative staff by providing substantial support in the areas of their operations and enabling them to participate in innovative research projects with the aim of continuous improvement of service delivery to students and the community.

Accommodation
The International University of Sarajevo has separated dormitory buildings for more than 220 male students and 160 female students. All the hostels have CCTV surveillance systems and fire alarm safety systems installed for the safety of foreigners. Students can choose 2-4 seater rooms that have study tables, chairs, beds, bed sheets, wardrobes, lamps, etc. They can also apply to the hostel administration if they wish to change their room or upgrade it.
Mehmet Cakir Female Dormitory is located on the campus of the International University of Sarajevo within walking distance of the university. Since 2010 university of Sarajevo has provided service to international students during their academic life with the knowledge that success is a result of a well-established physical and psychosocial atmosphere. Mehmet Cakir Female Dormitory is a quadruplex building with a capacity of 160 students and consisting of 51 rooms which are organized as 16 double, 15 triple (separate sleeping and study room), 18 quadruple (separate sleeping and study room), and 2 five-people (separate sleeping and study room) occupancy rooms.
