Admission Process
At the Alfred Education Group, we strive to ensure a comfortable educational experience in Bosnia and Herzegovina for international students from start to finish. Through the years of our work with students and universities, we have developed 6 steps for a fast and easy admission process. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us via email or phone at any time.Â
Step 1. Apply Online
If you have already chosen the University and faculty of your dreams, the information about the tuition fees is clear to you, and you are willing to study in Bosnia and Herzegovina — you can easily apply online by filling in the application form on our website. If you have some concerns about Bosnia and Herzegovina, universities, or educational programs – feel free to contact our managers. Alfred Education Group’s dedicated team will answer all your questions and help you choose the best option for you!
Step 2. Send Documents
To start your admission process, you need to send us the following documents:
- Application Form;
- High School Diploma or Certificate;
- Apostille (in case your country is a member of Hague convention https://www.hagueapostille.co.uk/hague-members);
- Or legalization of the school diploma and transcript in the consulate of the country they are applying for;
- Transcript Certificate;
- Copy of the passport;
- English Language Certificate.
Step 3. Pass Interview
Bosnian universities require international students to pass interviews as part of the admission process. Depending on the university you choose, you may either participate in a live online interview or submit a pre-recorded interview. The interview process allows the university to assess your qualifications, motivation, and suitability for the program. It is an important step to ensure that you meet the academic and language requirements necessary for successful study in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prepare thoroughly to make a strong impression. Additionally, some universities may require you to pass the entrance test. Note that this step may be unnecessary for some universities!Â
Step 4. Get an Invitation Letter
To receive an Invitation Letter from the Bosnian university, students will first be provided with a Pre-acceptance Letter with instructions for paying the admission fee (required by several universities). The applicant’s documents are submitted to the Federal Ministry of Education and Science of Bosnia and Herzegovina, enabling the issuance of a letter of information and an invoice for the payment of first-year tuition fees. First-year students must pay the tuition fees in full to obtain the Invitation Letter. Once the tuition fee is fully paid, the invitation letter will be issued.
There is a list of documents to be sent in order to obtain an Invitation Letter:
- Copy of the International Passport;
- Filled Application Form;
- Payment Slip Covering Tuition Fee for One Academic Year.
Available payment methods include bank transfer, Western Union, and MoneyGram. Ensure all documents are clearly legible, scanned properly, and double-checked before sending!
Invitations typically take 3-5 weeks to be confirmed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Step 5. Obtain a VISA
After getting an Invitation Letter you will have to contact the Bosnian Embassy in your country. To get your VISA approved you will have to prepare the following documents:
- Fill in the Application Form;
- Copy of the Passport (valid for at least two years);
- High School Diploma with Grades;
- Birth Certificate of the Applicant;
- Copy of National Identity Card;
- Certificate From the Police From the Country of Origin;
- Certificate of Health Condition (issued not more than three months ago);
- Passport Photographs;
- Proof of English Language Proficiency;
- Letter of Purpose (for Master Students);
- Resume/CV (for Master Students);
- Certificates or Diplomas Received During the previously Completed Education, such as a Bachelor’s Degree (for Master Students);
- Additional Sheet with Grades From Previously Completed Education (for Master Students);

Step 6. Arrive in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Alfred Education Group notifies the Department for Citizenship and Expatriates Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina about your arrival with an official letter so please be sure to notify us in advance about your arrival in Bosnia and Herzegovina! At passport control, the Border Service officer will verify if the official representative from Alfred Education Group mentioned in your letter is there to meet you. During border control, you will be asked to provide details about the university you are attending, the faculty you’ve enrolled in, and who is picking you up at the airport.
Please note! If you fail to inform us of your arrival in Bosnia and Herzegovina in advance, you will be deported back to your home country.
