Sports festival ‘Olympic Constellation’ at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University

A large sports festival “Olympic Constellation” took place at South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University, named after K.D. Ushinsky.

The concert was attended by the Olympic champions, famous sportsmen and coaches, representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in Odessa region, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Odessa Regional State Administration, Odessa City Council, teachers, students, graduates and veterans of sports.

Students of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Rehabilitation of the University, who were present at the festival, had a unique opportunity to receive valuable advice and guidance from the Olympic champions and winners: M.M. Milchev, M.V. Avilov, Y.V. Cheban, O.R. Sokolovskaya, S.V. Petrenko, Y.I. Zheleznyak, N.A. Burdeyna, V.V. Avilova-Kozyr, as well as from honored coaches: V.Y. Katsman, I.I. Vinogradova, O.E. Vasyutin and others.

In the process of event, the rector of the South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University, Alexey Chebikin, awarded the best sportsmen of the university.

“This is an Olympic day, in terms of which we are holding the meeting of students and aspirants with our graduates, who could have reached high results in sports, and have become acknowledged coaches. At this meeting we are communicating, sharing our experience and trying to understand whether we move in the right direction”, — admitted the rector of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University.

The academic community of the university and sports veterans wished high results to the students who won licenses to participate in the XXXII Olympic Games in Tokyo: Irina Malovichko (skeet shooting), Anastasia Todorova (rowing), Anna Ilyina (bullet shooting), Olena Kravatskaya (fencing).

This concert program was prapared by the students of the faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Rehabilitation, and the faculty of Musical and Choreographic Education in cooperation with the students’ club.
